COVID-19 Updates October 27th -November 3rd, 2022

There are no additional resource updates this week, listed below are all of the changes that went into effect on October 13th. 

 

COVID-19 Weekly Preparedness Checklist

  • The COVID-19 Weekly Preparedness Checklist has been updated for the week of October 27th – November 3rd, 2022.
  • The Hand Sanitizer Recall List (on the U:\\ drive) was updated March 2022. Please confirm the removal of recalled sanitizers from all locations

Flowcharts for Guidance on COVID-19 Exposure for Employees

  • Updates to isolation guidance for employees in Ontario

Flowcharts for Guidance on COVID-19 Exposure for People Supported 

  • A welcome change to isolation guidance for people who use our services.

COVID-19 Exposure Attendance and Testing Guide

  • Updates to isolation guidance for employees in Ontario.

COVID-19 Screening Protocol 

  • Significant changes to the screening protocol, moving from an active to a passive approach.

COVID-19 Symptom Self-Check Poster

  • Updated to reflect change in community guidance for COVID-19

FAQ – Screening Process 

  • Updated to reflect changes to the screening process.

Rapid Antigen Screening Instructions Ontario 

  • Updated to reflect a reduction in the frequency of Rapid testing from every other day to every third day.
  • Visitors and Contractors will also have the frequency of testing reduced to every third day.

COVID-19 Visiting Guide for Locations

  • Significant update to the Visiting Guide outlining guidance instructions for in home visits, overnight absences and community visits.

Resources Being Removed

With the updated guidance, a number of our existing resources are no longer required, these include:

  • COVID-19 Current Activity Restrictions
  • Visiting Guide for Families and Friends
    • Visiting guide for locations will cover all information
  • COVID -19 Visiting Record (ODB)
  • Daily Symptom Monitoring
    • This will be done through our established charting

COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters (Bivalent)

On September 12th in Ontario, and Saskatchewan, access to the Bivalent COVID-19 Vaccine became available for high risk populations including people who use our services. The vaccine is accessible at family doctors offices and in pharmacies. It is strongly encouraged that everyone residing and working in high risk settings receive the COVID-19 vaccine booster when they are eligible in order to reduce negative outcomes from infection and help reduce the spread of the virus in our communities.
