Health Care Access Research and Developmental Disabilities (H-CARDD)- Mental Health

“The H-CARDD program was developed to address disparities in health status and health care access faced by individuals with developmental disabilities in Ontario, Canada.”

H-CARDD is committed to conducting evidence based research on how to best support people with developmental disabilities through a variety of situations. One of H-CARDD’s more recent initiatives is focused on mental health and stress management in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As we continue to learn to live with COVID-19, the people who use our services may still have lingering anxiety or concerns about engaging in our communities. One of the strategies to overcome this can be the use of self-help booklets. Below is a video from H-CARDD outlining the use of self-help booklets for people to better understand their mental health. The resources were developed originally during the pandemic but they can be adapted to help in many situations.

For more of the resources H-CARDD has to offer on mental health and managing stress follow this link (Managing Stress and Mental Health).
