COVID-19 Weekly Preparedness Checklist

  • The COVID-19 Weekly Preparedness Checklist has been updated for the week of July 7th – July 14th, 2022.
  • The Hand Sanitizer Recall List (on the U:\\ drive) was updated March 2022), please confirm the removal of recalled sanitizers from all locations
  • Additional information on arranging pick – up and drop – off of biohazard bins in Ontario has been added.

Mask Mandates

This week, in partnership with local public health departments, a number of districts have returned to mandatory mask wearing within support locations. In previous waves of COVID-19, the most significant risk we faced was negative outcomes from infection. While this continues to be a risk, particularly in those that have not received the COVID-19 vaccines, we are also facing pressure in our ability to properly staff locations due to current Public Health isolation guidance related to high risk exposures. Returning to universal masking in our support locations will help to ensure we can continue to provide supports to the people that need it most.

Your local leadership teams will be communicating any changes to masking guidance, with continued updates over the coming weeks.

These decisions come at a time when Ontario is seeing significant COVID-19 growth in waste water signaling, with predicted continued increases. At this time Saskatchewan is not seeing the same rate of growth in COVID-19 cases as Ontario is.

COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters (4th dose)

On July 13th, Ontario announced that all Ontarians over the age of 18 are eligible for a 2nd COVID-19 booster dose. During the press conference, Dr. Moore stated this will allow Ontarians to decide in partnership with their health care team if an additional booster would be the correct decision for them. It is recommended everyone consult with their health care team to determine if an additional booster is the correct decision for you.

At this time, Saskatchewan has opened up 4th dose eligibility to those over the age of 50.

Thank you for your continued work and dedication, your commitment and tenacity, to provide the best service and supports is exceptional!
