      • New Hand Sanitizer Recall List available on the U:\\ drive to inspect the current supply at all locations. Further information on the government of Canada hand sanitizer recall and our inspection procedures can be found here.

  • The “Going Out? Do it Safely.” guide to going out in the community from the Government of Canada has been added as a reference to help people assess risks as they access their community while following current government restrictions (also available in french).

  • The COVID-19 Weekly Preparedness Checklist was updated for the week of July 24th to July 30th.
    • COVID-19 Weekly Preparedness Checklist
      • The checklist is available and tracked through the ODB. More information on the transition and instructions can be found here.
      • Completing the checklist through the ODB continues to be a requirement each week. If you are having trouble accessing the checklist trough the ODB, please use the PDF copy until you can complete it through the ODB and if needed contact your Systems Manager for support.
  • Updated to include guidelines and tracking for visitors. Further clarification has been provided around sore throats, headaches, muscle aches, and digestive issues based on the current Ontario Ministry of Health Self-assessment.

  • Updates to the Visiting Guides from last week have now come into effect since July 22nd.
    NOTE: The updated guidelines eliminate the need for confirmed negative tests and open up the possibility of indoor visits in a safe environment.

    • The COVID-19 Safety in your Community social story has been added to help us talk with people who use Christian Horizons’ services about the changes happening in our communities as more regions move through the reopening phases and the safety precautions that we should practice to continue to be safe.

SUPPORT PEOPLE TAB

  • The COVID-19 Weekly Preparedness Checklist was updated for the week of July 17th to July 23rd. Thank you to our Systems Managers and Information Systems teams who have worked diligently to transition the Weekly Preparedness Checklist to the ODB. This will make it easier for locations to track checklist items each week as we continue to ensure the safety of people who use our services and all of our employees.

      • The checklist is available and tracked through the ODB. More information on the transition and instructions can be found here.
      • Completing the checklist through the ODB continues to be a requirement each week. If you are having trouble accessing the checklist trough the ODB, please use the PDF copy until you can complete it through the ODB and if needed contact your Systems Manager for support.
  • Updates to the Visiting Guides that eliminates the need for confirmed negative tests and opens up the possibility of indoor visits in a safe environment. These changes come into effect July 22nd and are based on the latest guidance from the Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services. Guides have been reviewed for clarity and to emphasize the direction of people who use Christian Horizons services.

EMPLOYEES TAB

  • A document outlining traveling guidelines has been introduced to keep people and employees safe as provinces begin to open. At this time, not all provinces prohibit interprovincial travel, but all are recommending against it. The COVID-19 Current Travel Parameters specify Christian Horizons requirements for personal and work-related interprovincial and out of country travel whether by air, train, car, or bus.

SUPPORT PEOPLE TAB

  • Checklist updated for Supervisors and Health & Safety Representatives to complete for the week of June 19th to June 25th.  This checklist is updated weekly and includes all of the required documents that were updated and need to be re-printed.
    • COVID-19 Weekly Preparedness Checklist
      • The checklist will now be available and tracked through the ODB. More information on the transition and instructions can be found here.
      •  Please note that completing the checklist through the ODB will continue to be a requirement each week. If you have any questions, please contact your Systems Manager. 
  • The PPE Frequently Asked Questions document was updated to include guidelines to identify if surgical masks are defective.
  • Updated to extend screening protocol for outdoor visitors. Also adapted the tracking sheet for visitors to complete and to attest to a negative COVID-19 test result 2 weeks prior to the visit (in Ontario only).
  • Included the requirement for employees to report positive COVID-19 test results to their supervisor.

Welcoming Outdoor Visitors

We are pleased to be able to host families once again in Ontario while meeting the requirements provided by MCCSS! This week, you will find the COVID-19 Visiting Guide for Locations on our COVID-19 Resource page. The guide will include a visit planning form to help you schedule and prepare to host upcoming visits while complying with the guidelines set out by MCCSS. In addition, a COVID-19 Visiting Guide for Families and Friends will be published on our external COVID-19 page for families to access and review prior to their scheduled visit. When preparing to host a visit, please ensure that you are directing families to the COVID-19 Visiting Guide for Families and Friends, as it is an MCCSS requirement to inform visitors and provide them with information on our visiting protocols.
