Ontario Visiting Record Feedback & Update

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the COVID-19 Visiting Record (formerly, the COVID-19 Visitor Checklist) for tracking visitors in Ontario! In response, we have updated the Visiting Record in the ODB (Operations Database). Among the improvements made are:

  • a drop-down menu to select the type of Visiting Record and
  • a built-in notification system to alert supervisors when records are created and completed.  

All locations are required to document visits using this record. Enhanced visitor and home visit restrictions have now been put in place in some communities by MCCSS. Please click here for a summary of these restrictions, also available on the COVID-19 Resource page. No matter which community you serve in, please continue to use the COVID-19 Visiting Record in the ODB to track visits in your community.

“Thank you!“ for your ongoing diligence in this documentation. By using the ODB, we can securely access any needed information for reports or for the Ministry should it be requested. We have also heard that electronic submission reduces the amount of work involved in printing, scanning, and securely storing these records.*   

With the recent improvements, this is a great opportunity for your team to review the COVID-19 Visiting Record together!

SUPPORT PEOPLE TAB

  • The COVID-19 Weekly Preparedness Checklist was updated for the week of August 21st to August 27th.
  • As of August 21st, in Ontario, the COVID-19 Visitor Checklist is to be completed through the ODB. More information on the transition and instructions can be found here.

Testing Guidelines Update

We continue to monitor Ministry guidelines so we can keep you up to date. Recently, the Ministry of Health has updated COVID-19 testing guidelines.

  • Should you or someone using services have symptoms following a negative COIVD-19 test, you should be tested again.  You can find information on testing on our COVID-19 Pandemic Response page here.
  • People coming home from hospitals or other facilities and people new to services still require a negative COVID-19 test and to self isolate for 14 days. In addition to the updated testing guidelines, you can find information on these requirements in the COVID-19 Guidelines: Congregate Living Vulnerable for Populations.

This resource will continue to be updated every week to reflect changes in information and protocols. Please note that resources that are labeled in ORANGE or GREY if printed in black and white) with a strike-through are meant to be discarded from your location.
